IVE HEARD MANY DIFFERENT OPINIONS ON WHICH POSITION IS MOST VALUABLE IN OUR LEAGUE, AND I THINK THAT BEFORE WE TALK ABOUT CHANGING TOO MANY CATEGORIES WE SHOULD IF THE LEAGUE FEELS THAT TOO MUCH VALUE IS PLACED IN ONE AREA

This is how I would value positions in our league. But it is not how I would draft value them (a draft value would also include availability, how hard to obtain, usual salary, etc...). This is just what they are worth in the stats.

A QB is one of 2 players to effect the 4 passing categories and then is the biggest influence in the 3 total categories.

A RB is one of 2 players to effect the 3 rushing categories and 1 of 6 players to effect the 4 receiving ones. And then they effect the 4 total categories.

A WR/TE effects the 4 receiving categories and is one of only 6 players to do that (16% of 4 categories). Then they have an impact in the 4 total categories.

A DEF is one of two players that effects the 7 defensive categories. Nobody else effects these categories.

So by the stats...
Each individual QB is worth about 3 categories by himself.
Each individual RB is worth just under 3 categories.
Each individual WR/TE is worth just under 1 category.
Each individual DEF is worth about 3.5 categories.
And it all adds up to 22 categories.

And a running QB would obviously be worth about 4 categories (even though they are likely to be worse in those 4 then a good passing QB is in their 3). A WR who runs it gets increased category value. A skill player who returns kicks gets value in yards per touch. Basically a crossover player expands value (but usually at a performance cost).
